One Poem at a time

An update .....1998-2012

A special thanks to: Professor ED COLGATE .

and to many other professors and staff........................and most of all to the many students I've had the pleasure of being their EDC "Client".

John Lake and Jeanne Herrick.  They continue teaching me how to interact with students and are always "there" for me throughout the  project.

John Anderson, (been an ongoing friend from first project and continues to support my involvement with EDC -teaches fantastic communication skills to the students) Steve Jacobson, (heads the student's work in machine shop at Ford), Philip Jacob, Dave Kelso, .......... and Dr. Childress, Craig Heckathorn, Richard Weir from RIC (Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago)- just a few of many.......not to forget The Phoenix Society, the world burn organization who helped me become a burn SURVIVOR and LUMC, Dr, Richard Gamelli, my surgeon, head of burn unit at time of my "fire", ((2009 - named Dean of the Stritch School of Medicine...LUMC) and , Barry Bennett, then social worker for LUMC burn unit and also began support group for burn survivors - "Links of Hope"............still with LUMC

I contacted Northwestern University in the Fall of 1997.  As the result of a house fire I lost all the digits and thumb on my right hand.  A year in occupational therapy and I was ready to return to the game of tennis.

I needed help!!  Professor Ed Colgate took my first call.  He told me about a new program established in the McCormick School of Engineering.  It was named EDC (Engineering Design and Communication) ...a program for Freshmen engineering students teaching them to deal with the real world of clients.  Learning good communication skills with clients, completing a project and having goals to give the client the best possible.  This  in a 10 week time slot!!  I have been the recipient of these skills and consider myself honored to  be an ongoing "CLIENT" in this amazing program.

167 student engineers -  years 1998 -2012

41 team projects - EDC Spring 1998-2012

 4 team projects - EDC - Winter 2005

I am celebrating my 14th year (2012) with EDC. Missed 2008!!!!!!!!! These remarkable student engineers have given me far more than a completed device.  They've inspired me, given me hope, care and support in my continuing zest to accomplish many things many thought I would never do with only a hand and a "paw".  I applaud their determination.  The following list says it all!!

After the August 2014 Monterey Classic Car Week, I covered what replica watches uk it was like to spend time with and talk cars with long-time Rolex brand ambassador and race legend Jackie Stewart (if you are a car or racing person, I recommend you check that out). If you go, you may not get all the behind the scene's access, but you'll see the Rolex name around replica watches uk plenty. Rolex is keenly skilled in interacting with important demographics who not replica watches uk only have wealth, but also enjoy spending it on their passions and hobbies. Purchasing and maintaining classic cars is a serious labor of love which requires a lot more than just the money to do so. With that said, Pebble Beach isn't just about buying and replica watches uk selling automobiles, it is also a celebration of something which is deeply connected to what replica watches uk we love about high-end objects - aesthetic elegance.
